Les Églises Unies et Anglicanes au Québec anglophone : enjeux contemporains
|
| Abstract |
The author explores the contemporary relationship between English Quebecers and the United and Anglician Churches. She examines in detail the main results from a series of quantitative analyses concerning the evolution of key church indicators since the 1970s (religious affiliation and baptisms). These indicators are also compared to similar research regarding Franco-Quebecers and Anglo-Canadians outside of Quebec. These data are interpreted according to a theoretical framework allowing for the existence of several stories of secularization, dialoguing most notably with the sociological studies conducted by David Martin — one of the leading international experts on religious identity.
