Title
Trail of the Dragon: Looking for Chinatown in Old Quebec
Abstract
The author's elusive search for Quebec City's Chinese community. He notes that there were 68 people of Chinese ethnic origin in Quebec City listed in the 1911 census, while 1,200 had settled in Montreal. However, the 1940s and 1950s were seen as Quebec City's Chinatown glory days, with yearly parades and festivals, resturants and over 40 Chinese laundries, but the population numbered less than 200. By the 1970s, most of the Chinese population had left Quebec City.
