Abstract |
During the 1849 outbreak of cholera in Quebec City, 1,185 inhabitants of the city died from the disease. Immigrants, mostly from Ireland, brought the disease with them to Quebec, while the city's lack of proper sewage disposal and clean water supply helped spread the disease.
