|
| Abstract |
A history of the English settlers on the Cumberland Fief overlooking the Cumberland River, a tributary of the Famine River, near Saint-Georges-de-Beauce in the upper Chaudière valley. Edward Harbottle acquired the land in 1819 and held it until his death in 1851. The Taylor family acquired the land in the 1850s and held it until 1976. The authors outline the history of the estate and the genealogy of the Taylor family.
