Le rapport entre la majorité et les minorités dans la formation de l'identité québécoise
|
Abstract |
The author focuses on the phenomena of inclusion and exclusion within Quebec's national identity. Quebec is a minority within Canada as a whole, but also a majority facing the demands of minority groups (Anglophones, Allophones and Aboriginal peoples) within the province. The author argues that approximately eighteen percent of Quebecers feel excluded from "Québécois" national identity, even if they feel an attachment to Quebec. The author offers solutions that he feels will reconcile the situation, knowing full well that a total feeling of inclusion is imposible to attain.
