Abstract |
A history of the Royal Montreal Regiment, whose armoury is located at 4625 St. Catherine Street, Westmount, Quebec. The first two corps of the officially bilingual Royal Montreal Regiment were created in 1914, shortly after the outbreak of the First World War. These two corps integratedelements from two English-speaking regiments (the 1st Regiment of the Canadian Grenadier Guards and the 3rd Regiment of the Victoria Rifles of Canada) and one French-speaking regiment (the 65th Regiment of the Carabiniers Mount Royal).
