The author examines the social and spatial differentiation in the Montreal urban context. His study consists of three sections: 1) a brief overview of the significance of Montreal; 2) remarks concerning the political and economic situation in Montreal, as well as an examination of the socio-economic development of the city; and 3) an analysis of the social and spatial differential of different groups within the city.
