Abstract
The authors conclude that the Anglophone population of Quebec increased between 1951 and 1976, but declined thereafter in both size and proportion. The decline was the result of a low birth rate and interprovincial emigration. They found that bilingualism was more prevalent among Anglophone Quebecers (54%) compared to Francophone Quebecers (30%).
