| Abstract |
Using family allowance records and census data, the author concludes that the propensity to leave Quebec had always been greater for Anglophones than Francophones. He argues that Bill 101 only increased out-migration of Anglophones between 1977 and 1979. He claims that between 1979 and the time he wrote the article, the number of emigrants was comparable to the numbers observed in pre-1977 years.
