La structure professionnelle de Montréal en 1825
|
Abstract |
A economic study of pre-industrial Montreal, with emphasis on trade, manufacturing, and transportation, as well as nineteenth century apprenticeship regulations and economic activities in Montreal suburbs. The authors point out that despite the fact that historians have focussed on the fur trade magnates, the economic life of Montreal in 1825 was dominated by "boutiques" and "stalls."
