Title
L'impact de la recherche appliquée en milieu scholaire: Quelques considérations préliminaires
Abstract
The author notes that the usefulness of applied research in policy development and evaluation is often contested, for different reasons, by both researchers and administrators. The goal of his article is to delimit the characteristics of research which has actually been incorporated into educational policies. The author analyzed sixty research projects undertaken in a large Montreal urban school board serving both Francophone and Anglophone students. This analysis made it possible for the author to note the importance of the way in which research is produced and adapted to the circumstances at hand. The author concludes that the research which was fruitful, in terms of use, met identified needs, involved a person having a recognized position in the educational hierarchy, was planned in collaboration with the interested parties, and was distributed taking into account the different types of possible users.
