Talking to a Portrait : Tales of an Art Curator
|
Abstract |
For over thirty years, the author worked as a Curator at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. This book is a collection of fifteen essays about art works - whether an oil portrait,
a wilderness explorer’s sketchbook or a Tiffany lamp - and how
the author fell under their spell. She explains the work,
the emotion, and the obsessions of a curator’s job, and while exhibitions come and go and are forgotten after a few years, they live on in the curator’s memory.
