Abstract |
This article is part of a larger study by the author aiming to strengthen the methodological foundations of the sociology of translation, while developing links between this discipline and that of translation studies. Her objective is to present the various difficulties of a demographic, cultural, linguistic, aesthetic or identity-related nature encountered in the framework of a pilot project, as well as the selected solutions and some preliminary results. The author's pilot project focused on the issues raised by the creation and statistical analysis of a database of all Anglo-Quebec works of fiction translated into French between 1990 and 2013. She began with the hypothesis that the criteria for establishment and the variables retained convey an image not only of the social conditions of the production and dissemination of translations in the contemporary Quebec context but also of the relationship between the Anglophone and Francophone literary communities.
