Abstract |
A collection of articles and editorials written by A.M. Klein (1909-1972) prompted by contemporary events, written between 1928 and 1955, during the time that Klein served as editor of "The Judaean", "The Canadian Zionist", and the "Canadian Jewish Chronicle". The editors point out that the broad range of Klein’s interests, ideas, and activities is reflected in this selection of articles, editorials, and reviews. Klein was a Montreal poet, novelist, journalist and lawyer. The book covers Klein's interests in the Great Depression, the rise of fascism, Nazism, and communism, the Second World War, the emergence of the State of Israel, as well as the Canadian Jewish scene.
