| Abstract |
Hugh MacLennan (1907-1990) published his novel, Two Solitudes, in 1945. The novel had been translated into six other languages when, in 1963, Ms. Gareau-Des Bois’ translation into French was published in Paris. Éditions H.M.H. of Montreal eventually published the first French language translation in Canada in 1978.
