Les Québécois de la bonne entente : un siècle de relations ethniques et religieuses dans la région de Buckingham, 1850-1950

Abstract |
A critique of ethnic and religious relations between Francophones and Anglophones, especially involving the Irish, in the West Quebec village of Buckingham and Lower Lièvre. The villagers claim that there is a "bonne entente" between the English and French, Protestants and Catholics. The author challenges this view, arguing that there are tensions and inter-ethnic and religious rivalries in the village, with spatial and institutional segmentation.
