Abstract
During the Second World War, Verdun was home to an exceptionally high percentage of British-born residents. The Montreal suburb claimed to lead Canada in the proportion of its population on active service. The author examines the origin of the city’s British-born community and provides a statistical analysis of Verdun’s enlistment record.
