Analyse descriptive du bilinguisme au Québec selon la langue maternelle en 1951, 1961 et 1971

Abstract |
The author found that bilingualism increased among non-Francophones in Quebec between 1951 and 1971, while it decreased among Francophones in the province during this period. In 1971, 40 percent of Francophone men between 15 and 65 years of age indicated they could speak English, while 53 percent of non-Francophone men of the same age indicated they could speak French. However, in Montreal, more Francophone men (56 percent) could speak English compared to non-Francophone men (52 percent) who could speak French.
