| Abstract |
The bilingual Quebec Gazette/La Gazette de Québec, the provinces first newspaper, was founded by William Brown (c. 1737-1789) and Thmas Gilmore (d. 1773). It began publication on June 21, 1764. The paper evolved into the present-day Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph newspaper, and is recognized as North America's oldest continuously operating newspaper.
