An exploration of everyday life in the Canadas. Among those studied is Abraham Joseph, the son of a well-to-do Jewish merchant family in Lower Canada. Abraham Joseph kept a diary from 1834 to 1876 which provides a great deal of information on the political, economic, and social life in Quebec during this period.
