| Abstract |
By analyzing the political careers of Jocelyn Waller (1772-1828), Daniel Tracey (1794-1832) and Edmund Bailey O'Callaghan (1797-1880), Irish-born Montreal journalists and political leaders, the author outlines the development and decline of a political alliance between some Irish immigrants and French Canadians reformers prior to the Rebellion of 1837.
