Thomas Molson, entrepreneur canadien : 1791-1863
|
| Abstract |
A business biography of Montreal-born Thomas Molson (1791-1863), a successful brewer, distiller, miller, and property owner. The second son of John Molson Sr., the author describes Thomas Molson was a hand-on manager who did not adapt to the large scale export-import trade or to the concept of joint-stock companies that were developing in nineteenth-century Montreal. Nevertheless, he was a very successful businessman, worth at least $1 million at the time of his death.
