A reconstruction of the life and poetic career of Quebec City-born and Montreal raised George Longmore (1793-1867), a British Army officer and author of "The Charivari: or Canadian Poetics" and other works while stationed at the Montreal Garrison (1819-1824), one of the earliest Canadian-born poets to publish in English Canada.
