|
| Abstract |
The author focuses on the alternative health and medical services provided to women in a non-institutional setting by the Heads and Hands Clinic in the Montreal borough of Notre-Dame-de-Grace (N.D.G.). Heads and Hands opened its doors in 1971 as a youth drop-in centre with a mission to provide youth with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their physical and mental well-being. The clinic's services included gynecology, general medicine, dentistry clinics and counseling.
