Abstract |
The history of an Eastern Townships Quaker Meeting, which lasted some eighty years. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, many Quaker families moved north from Vermont and settled in southern Quebec. Their stronghold was the village of East Farnham, where they constructed a series of "meeting houses". By 1907 few active Quakers remained in the area and their last meeting house was sold and demolished. The author also outlines the history of the development of Allen's Corner.
