Abstract |
The nineteenth-century history of Gaspé schooner sailing boats that were used by local fishers and whale hunters. One of the most famous of these whaling boats was the Breeze, built in 1834 and survived forty years. In 1873, the owner of the Breeze, Captain Harbour, sold her rigging and gears and ordered the hull broken up.
