| Abstract |
A critical biographical sketch of the Scottish-born Adam Thom (1802-1890), a Montreal journalist, lawyer, and member of Lord Durham's inquiry into the affairs of Lower Canada. The author claims that Thom opposed not only Louis-Joseph Papineau and his beliefs, but also the aspirations of French Canada.
