Abstract
Lower Canada College, a private elementary and secondary school on Royal Avenue in Montreal, traces elements of its roots to 1861 to St. John's School, a small Anglican Boys' boarding school started by the Church of St John the Evangelist. Lower Canada College opened at its present location on September 20, 1909. Once a boys-only school, since 1995 it has been coeducational.
