Montreal's Cavalry : The History of the Royal Canadian Hussars (Montreal)
|
Abstract |
A two-volume regimental history of the Royal Canadian Hussars and the Montreal Cavalry units that preceded it. The authors describe every significant operation where Montreal-based cavalry soldiers served prior to 2020. They describe well-known historical events (the War of 1812, the 1837-1838 rebellions, the Fenian raids, the Boer War, the First and Second World Wars, and missions in Germany, Cyprus, the former Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan) from the point of view of the cavalry soldier, and provide insight into the social and political history of Montreal.
