Title
St. Patrick's Church, Montreal: Sorting Out the Beginnings
Abstract
The author challenges the common assumption that the architectural style of St. Patrick’s Church is based on the British Gothic movement spearheaded by Pugin. She argues that stylistic analysis shows that St. Patrick’s Church owes more to both the French Gothic style from Normandy and local building traditions than the British movement.
