Abstract |
A study of Brome County and surrounding regions (Stanstead, Shefford, Missisquoi and Sherbrooke), with emphasis on the economic landscape of the nineteenth century and first decade of the twentieth century of the southern Eastern Townships. The development of road, water, and rail transportation, and their effects on agriculture, manufacturing and population shifts are discussed.
