The Hassidic community of Kiryas Tosh is located within Boisbriand, Quebec, twenty-five kilometers north of Montreal. Based on 1970s interviews and participant observation, the author focuses on the attempt by Tashen Hassidim to incorporate a separate community within Boisbriand.
