Abstract |
An historical note on the settlement of the Eastern Townships town of Sherbrooke in 1793 by Gilbert Hyatt and his family. The first permanent facilities in Sherbrooke date to 1803 with the construction of the Hyatt flour mill and the Bail sawmill, both close to the confluence of the Magog and Saint-François rivers.
