Abstract
A general history of Canada, from 1534 to the turn of the twentieth century. Included are volumes on post-Conquest Quebec, the United Province of Canada, the political evolution of Canada, and the country's industrial expansion. W.D. Lighthall wrote an essay for Volume 15 of this series titled "English Settlement in Quebec", the first attempt at writing a history specifically about English-speaking Quebec.
