Abstract |
A history of Quebec from the Conquest to the Act of Union, based mainly on official documents and private correspondence. It has been remarked that this work is of historiographic importance for its detailed, impartial chronicling of events and its presentation of documents, some no longer extant in their original form. The author (1787-1856) was a journalist, historian, law clerk and later Member of the Legislative Assembly.
