Abstract |
The two cemeteries are: the Mount Royal Cemetery and Le Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, both located on Montreal's Mount Royal mountain. Mount Royal Cemetery, the Protestant burial ground, was inaugrated in 1852. The Catholic burial ground, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, was inaugrated in 1855. The authors outline the history of the landscaping of both cemeteries.
