Abstract
A short history of the development of Lennoxville, which the author claimed (circa 1954) might "...well be described as the last stand of the anglo-saxons in the Eastern Townships." Seventy-five percent of Lennoxville's population of 3,000 was English-speaking in 1954. In 2002, the town of Lennoxville was merged into the City of Sherbrooke. Slightly less than half the population of Lennoxville is today English-speaking.
