Abstract |
A description of the interior of Montreal's Erskine and American Church, with an explanation of the meaning and origins of its decorations. The church, on Sherbrooke Street at the northern end of Crescent Street, was built in 1893-94, based on a design by Montreal architect Alexander Cowper Hutchison. The interior was renovated in 1938-39 by Montreal architect Percy Nobbs.
