Georgeville is in Stanstead Township on the eastern shore of Lake Memphremagog. At the end of the 18th century, Moses Copp and his family built a house to operate a ferry service linking the two sides of the lake. In the 1820s, the name Copp's Ferry was changed to Georgeville.
