Abstract
Montreal railroad heiress Elsie Meighen Reford (1872-1967) took possession of her uncle's rustic Estevan Lodge on the Métis River on the Lower St. Lawrence in 1918, and by 1926 had transformed it into a show case garden of world-renown.
