|
Abstract |
The story behind the 29-foot wide grand drape depicting Owl’s Head Mountain and Lake Memphremagog in Quebec's Eastern Townships and northern Vermont. The scenic drape was painted in 1907 by William Gill (1853-1943), considered one of the finest itinerant scenic artists of the nineteenth century. The drape is now stored in Stanstead Historical Society’s Colby-Curtis Museum.
