Abstract |
Samuel William Jacobs (1871-1938) was educated at McGill University and Université Laval. From 1917 until his death, he was the Liberal Member of Parliament for the Montreal riding of Cartier. He was president of the Baron de Hirsch Institute (1912-1914), of the Canadian Jewish Congress (1934-1938), and Life Governor of the Montreal General Hospital, Hôpital Notre Dame, Mount Sinai Sanatorium, the Young Men's Hebrew Association, and the Hebrew Free Loan Association.
