Aspects of Form as World: An Interpretation of the Novels of Mordecai Richler
|
Abstract |
An interpretation of the novels of Montrealer Mordecai Richler (1931-2001), starting from the premise that form and content are one. Taking form to be that which forms the world of the novel, and the world to be an organized whole, the author examines the nature of the worlds of Richler's novels -- how their nature reflects particularly in character, setting and plot -- and how the literary forms Richler used bear upon the worlds he depicted.
