Abstract |
The author was the Anglican minister in Stanbridge East, in the Eastern Townships. His pamphlet criticizes those Canadians, especially those living in the Townships, who were supporting the American idea of separating the Church of England from "the mother country." The pamphlet also contains a copy of his sermon preached after the 1870 Fenian raids by Irish Americans, where he criticizes the American government for its implicit support of the cross-border provocation.
