Abstract |
A short account of brothers Joseph and William Abbott, Anglican missionaries, who arrived in Canada from England in 1818. They settled in Argenteuil County. Among their illustrious offspring were John Joseph Caldwell Abbott (1821-1893), Canada's fourth and first native-born Prime Minister; and Dr. Maude Elizabeth Seymour Abbott (1869-1940), a pathologist and professor at McGill University's Faculty of Medicine.
