Abstract |
Includes a study of the social relationship between the owners of a capitalist enterprises and their white collar workers in turn-of-the-century Montreal. The Montreal-based Guarantee Company of North America dealt solely with fidelity bonding of workers in positions of trust in other firms. The company was designed to protect employers from absconding clerks, as well as educating white collar employees in proper work habits and discipline.
