Abstract
On July 13, 1799, the Township of Rawdon was established. In 1824, the population of Rawdon was approximately 475 people, seventy-five percent of whom were of Irish descent. By 1844, Francophones had become the majority. In 1919, Rawdon split into the Township and the Village of Rawdon.
