| Abstract |
Montreal-born abstract artist Paterson Ewen (1925-2002) studied fine arts at McGill University from 1946-47 with John Goodwin Lyman, and from 1948-50 took classes at the School of Art and Design at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts with Goodridge Roberts. He was a member of the Non-Figurative Artists' Association of Montreal, founded in 1956. Ewen was a leader in Montreal's abstract painting community in the 1950s and 1960s. He moved to London, Ontario, in 1968.
