Abstract |
Thomas Campbell Bulmer (1846-1902) purchased a large tract of undeveloped land in the southwestern section of the Montreal suburb of Westmount in 1888. The holding stretched from Côte St. Antoine Road to the north, Victoria Avenue to the east, the C.P.R. tracks to the south, and Claremont Avenue to the west. With this purchase, Bulmer became the largest landowner in Westmount. Between 1888 and 1914, T.C. Bulmer and his sons built at least 39 houses in this section of Westmount. Twenty-nine of these houses remain today.
