The Lennoxville Magazine, the University of Bishop’s College and Transatlantic Anglicanism in Victorian Canada
|
Abstract |
The Lennoxville Magazine began publication in January 1867 as The Students’ Monthly, changed its name to the Lennoxville Magazine in January 1868, and ceased publication in November 1868. The arthor argues that this short-lived magazine is evidence of how nineteenth-century Bishop’s was defined by an Atlantic, Anglo-American culture that encompassed the local world of the Eastern Townships and the High Church tradition within Anglicanism.
